Dream Corps for Harmonious Development International (Dream Corps) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. Founded by Chinese students attending universities in the U.S., Dream Corps’ mission is to engage in service in rural China, Chinese students studying in universities outside of China and international youth with Chinese descents and other college youths to work to promote education for the neediest children, so that their future is not held hostage by the existing economic, social and information divide. The year 2006 is its third year in operation.
For summer 2006, Dream Corps recruited, trained and sent 37 volunteers to 6 rural sites in China from May 26 to June 23.

Volunteers worked in teams of five with a good mixture of Chinese students studying in the U.S., American students and local Chinese volunteers. They stationed in one rural school or community center at one of the rural destinations and worked with several surrounding schools and communities.
