I wrote Shapes in Bronze for my own pleasure. I had thought about writing a tuba/euphonium quartet soon after writing Concerto Basso about twenty years before, and I finally had the time to do it in 1992.
Shapes in Bronze is in four contrasting movements and can be performed by college level musicians.
