What is the "Ribbons" Fund ?
Ri
bbons
Sometimes time is especially critical when we have found a home for a horse who needs to be saved from the kill pen.
The "Ribbons Fund" has been established, and is growing, to make sure we never again lose a horse to slaughter because funds aren't available in time.
Who was "Ribbons" ?

"Ribbons" was a mare whom we lost to slaughter by only a few hours, because we couldn't move quickly enough to raise her bail.
We had found a home for her but couldn't save her since the money wasn't raised in time; she shipped to slaughter in spite of our best efforts.
We called her "Ribbons" because someone who clearly loved her had braided ribbons into her mane, and they were still in place when she ended up at the kill buyer.
If ForeverMorgans had a cushion of funds in place at the time, we could have moved more quickly and saved her. The memory of what happened to Ribbons haunts all of us.
To ensure this never happens again, ForeverMorgans has established the "Ribbons" emergency fund. Keeping this fund available, and filling it immediately when it is depleted, is a priority for us.
Please help us maintain the Ribbons Fund by sending a designated donation to it !
Our Mission Statement:
ForeverMorgans is an organization of volunteers whose purpose is to be a resource for Morgans in need, whether they are surrendered, rescued from shelters, auctions, kill buyers, or simply removed from potentially dangerous situations. ForeverMorgans wishes to open our virtual barn doors to all Morgans in need of safe and loving homes. We focus on registered Morgans but will consider unregistered Morgans on a case-by-case basis.
