Think a registered Morgan can't end up at New Holland, in the hands of a kill broker, or advertised "free to a good home" on the internet? Think again !
See our list of registered "saves", below, over the past five years - and this list doesn't include the many grade horses we have also rescued.
Don't forget to check out these pictures & stories , below, of some happy endings courtesy of ForeverMorgans.

Just a few of the many horses who found homes through ForeverMorgans !! Please see our stories, below, & share them with others...

Theia (Coachman's Mi-T-Aria, AMHA #0177453) , rescued in 2010, is described by her new owners in Rhode Island as "a smile on four legs" - "this girl is a peach and a pleasure to be around". Theia is currently started on a long line, soon to be in harness and perhaps shown in-hand this summer. Theia's journey from New Holland to "enjoying life, the attention of people, and all the marvelous things her athletic body can do" are a testament to her loving family and to the resilience of the Morgan spirit.
And check out those dapples, palomino lovers!
Splendor's rescue, in the words of her new family..."Suri"
was a broker horse in the kill pen in 2010, and unfortunately didn't have registration papers. She looked to be Morgan through and through. AC4H had a little video of her being ridden in a paddock with other horses. She was SO GOOD. Trying so hard to be obedient, even with other horses nibbling on her butt. I waited and waited for someone to step up and foster her. I replayed that video over and over... when it got down to a couple of hours (or less) before her "departure", I started to panic and began calling around to find a place to quarantine her. I e-mailed ForeverMorgans & AC4H.
My heart was in my throat and racing! She was saved. FM did their magic, and within just a few days she was delivered to Sunshine acres. She was an extraordinarily lovely horse, young, sound, apparently well trained, kind and sweet. She was beautiful to boot. I fell in love with her, but was in no position to adopt her. I put the word out on Facebook, and called every good horseperson I could think of. A good friend called and wanted to visit her. It was love at first sight, a match made in heaven and the rest is history. My friend is 56 years old and hasn't had a horse since she was 16. It was a lifelong dream for her. Please, please, please, people, don't think these "throw away" horses necessarily have training defects or health problems. It's usually not the case. Splendor is living proof! :)"

Beau was two days away from shipping from a dealer's lot onto a slaughter truck when ForeverMorgans arranged for his adoption by Queen Hive Farm in Assawoman, Virginia. A former Amish road horse, he is now being used lightly for beginner riding lessons, trail rides, parades, and horse camp. He takes his new owner and her family on trips down local roads. Sweet and cooperative, Beau loves attention. This beautiful jet-black horse stole the crowd's heart at the local 2009 Fourth of July parade.

Hawk, this handsome black grade Morgan gelding, was scooped up by his adopted mother after seeing him only in pictures and video. Hawk and his new mom "met" when she noticed his information at a ForeverMorgans display at the Old Dominion (Virginia) Morgan Horse show in late summer, 2009. He stole her heart, and that of many of her neighbors, soon after he arrived from Pennsylvania, where he was fostered while his feet recovered from road shoes. Hawk is currently pampered by his new family in Buena Vista, Virginia, where he is pictured below strutting his stuff in the 2009 Christmas parade - only a few short months after arriving! ForeverMorgans would like to thank EasyCare Inc. for donating a pair of boots to assist in his hoof recovery.

Amos ("Derawnda Jonathan" AMHA #166091, JMF Mr Bojangles x Memory Black Rose) was discovered in a broker's pen at New Holland by AC4H in May 2009, and was given a second chance at life by a trusting soul who committed to him sight unseen! When picked up at the sale, he had lots of harness marks and sores (see top left picture). At the end of June, Amos went to a trainer since he was only broke to drive. Clearly he was a quick study... 5 weeks later he was back at his forever home, where he proceeded to start his show career. In September his AMHA papers were transferred to his new family. Hooray for happy endings !! (you can see Amos in action here, too).

Noel and son Jackson (Noel before rescue, left, after, right, and center, with her son after foaling out post- rescue) Noel was seven months in foal at the time of this photo, taken at the broker's lot. She is a Standardbred/ Morgan cross and Jackson's dad is a registered Morgan. Jackson beat the odds twice, once in utero and again during a difficult foaling, and as evidenced in his picture, is turning out to be a strapping young colt with a bright future. Noel and Jackson went to their forever home in Pennsylvania after she foaled out (May 2009) while in foster in Virginia.

Purdy ("Pure Country Perfect") and son Nick , another 2008 rescue. This registered mare in foal was a last minute rescue; she had already been loaded onto a meat truck when AC4H arrived to pay her bail. Thankfully, the broker was willing to unload her, which doesn't always happen because brokers sometimes need to "make" a certain weight per load and will refuse to take a horse off even if we have cash in hand.
Purdy was already halfway through her pregnancy at that time so there were two lives in the balance. She went to quarantine and to foal out with a ForeverMorgans member in Alabama, although we weren't even certain when she was due! Her beautiful, healthy big black colt was named Forever Nick of Time by the group, and when he was old enough to travel, he and his mother moved to their forever home.

Carribean Jack (before rescue, left, and after, right) was rescued in 2008. Currently living in New Hampshire, Jack is the companion of a four-year-old girl with whom he is quite enamored (and her mother, of course!). Jack is thriving in their care after his previous life as an Amish road horse, and has made a remarkable comeback, as evidenced in these pictures.

Happy (Coachman's Hellopenna #0135689) was rescued from New Holland in 2008 by AC4H after being driven far too many hard miles. She came to her forever home in Virginia later that year. She currently lives the good life as a pasture ornament & occasionally packs her new mom around on leisurely trail rides. Happy would like to thank everyone who helped her learn how to trust again, especially Butch & Karin Sclater for their encouragement & patience.

Our Mission Statement:
ForeverMorgans is an organization of volunteers whose purpose is to be a resource for Morgans in need, whether they are surrendered, rescued from shelters, auctions, kill buyers, or simply removed from potentially dangerous situations. ForeverMorgans wishes to open our virtual barn doors to all Morgans in need of safe and loving homes. We focus on registered Morgans but will consider unregistered Morgans on a case-by-case basis.
ForeverMorgans is eternally grateful to Katie Rall Jump, who many years ago realized there was a need to rescue Morgans. From the seed of her idea, this organization was born.
