How you can help...
The best way to start is simply to sign up for our Yahoo group, in order to stay informed about the status of potential rescue candidates (how much "bail" needs to be raised, if a foster home or quarantine location is needed, what transportation is required to bring a rescued horse to a safe location, etc.) By using this group forum to communicate, FM can act swiftly to coordinate multiple offers of assistance.
Transport of rescued horses is one of our greatest expenses. Volunteers and their rigs are frequently needed to haul either in a single trip, or as legs of a longer, multi-stage trip.
Additionally, if your facility can serve as an overnight stop, this can be of significant relief to drivers and horses alike. Please contact us if you can transport or host a layover during a trip.
As most rescue supporters know, money is always tight. Whether it is used to contribute to "bail", shipping charges, quarantine costs, or veterinary expenses, your donations will be carefully used and always accounted for... please use the PayPal button at bottom left to make direct donations.
If you have the room in your barn and your heart to be a forever home, a foster home, or a temporary quarantine facility, please contact us. You can download an application in either PDF or as a Word doc. Many of the horses we rescue have made it through a hectic and stressful time in their lives, and benefit greatly from a consistent, calm and loving environment. Check out our fostering page to see if it's for you!
And we can ALWAYS use help getting the word out. If you are willing to staff an information table, hand out brochures or "adoptable" flyers, run our PowerPoint presentation or speak at a regional club, show, or organization - whether it's a group dedicated to Morgans, or an open event - we can hook you up !
Contact us to inquire about setting up at your event. We'll provide almost all the materials necessary, either by sending them via electronic files for you to print, or by producing them and sending hard copies to you.
We thank you, and most of all, the horses thank you...
Our Mission Statement:
ForeverMorgans is an organization of volunteers whose purpose is to be a resource for Morgans in need, whether they are surrendered, rescued from shelters, auctions, kill buyers, or simply removed from potentially dangerous situations. ForeverMorgans wishes to open our virtual barn doors to all Morgans in need of safe and loving homes. We focus on registered Morgans but will consider unregistered Morgans on a case-by-case basis.
ForeverMorgans is eternally grateful to Katie Rall Jump, who many years ago realized there was a need to rescue Morgans. From the seed of her idea, this organization was born.
