Resources for helping Morgans in need:

We can assist in several ways. If you know of a Morgan in potentially bad circumstances, facing sale at an auction, or whose owners must for some reason re-home him or her, our network can try to help. We'll help look for a suitable foster or forever home, or at the least get the word out about the horse to our approximately 400 members. Contact us with as much information as possible about the horse and the situation.

We send letters modified from this template to the breeders of registered Morgans whom we are trying to save. If, as an individual, you would like to contact a breeder for this purpose, please feel free to use appropriately modified wording, keeping in mind that courtesy is of the utmost importance in such transactions.

ForeverMorgans and AC4H also use modifications to this letter in order to warn sellers who may not be aware, of the perils of listing "free" horses, or horses for unusually low prices, on internet advertisements and in classified ads.

If you are a breeder, please consider adding your name to this list of responsible horse breeders who will attempt to take back or assist in rehoming horses who originated in their programs and have since fallen upon hard times. (Note that this list is not maintained by ForeverMorgans).

ForeverMorgans encourages anyone who seeks assistance from an advertised horse rescue to conduct thorough background and reference checks before surrendering a horse.

Our Mission Statement:

ForeverMorgans is an organization of volunteers whose purpose is to be a resource for Morgans in need, whether they are surrendered, rescued from shelters, auctions, kill buyers, or simply removed from potentially dangerous situations. ForeverMorgans wishes to open our virtual barn doors to all Morgans in need of safe and loving homes. We focus on registered Morgans but will consider unregistered Morgans on a case-by-case basis.

ForeverMorgans is eternally grateful to Katie Rall Jump, who many years ago realized there was a need to rescue Morgans. From the seed of her idea, this organization was born.
