Jyvaskyla Finland

I was attending a conference and in the lobby of the technical university was an old Cray Computer. My laptop is likely more powerful than this liquid cooled bench ever was.

Pascal Deboeck (now at KU) was also speaking in the same session.

The fall clouds were gathering over the lakeside setting. Jyvaskyla is built around one of the largest lakes in Finland.

One evening we went to a site where historical farm buildings are preserved. They fed us an interesting traditional Finnish meal with traditional Finnish moonshine to start things off.

The first week of September was the peak of the fall colors.

The colors in the sky were muted and the twilight lasted for a long time. Definitely more northern climate than Virginia!
