Kati Kostyak grew up in State College with her Mom (Cinda), Dad (John), and older brother Jacey.

She graduated from State College High School where she ran cross country and track.

After graduation, she headed to Kent State University, where she continued to run cross country and track until finishing her biology degree in 2002.

  She is currently at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and plans to eventually complete a residency in pediatrics.
