    Initiated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, this project represents an on-going effort to identify and assemble statistical information conveying the key features of the economic, political, social and cultural environments of countries around the world.  Registered persons can query the CIFP database in four ways:

  • Louisiana State University's Political Science Department has created a comprehensive listing of Foreign and International Materials.

  • University of Pennsylvania African Studies is among the most comprehensive academic sites with Africa material.

  • The WWW Virtual Library: International Affairs Resources  - presents over 1400 annotated links in a range of international affairs topics. Sites are chosen because of long-term value, favoring those with cost-free, high-quality information and analysis online.

  • Russian, East European, and Central Asian Studies Center (REECAS)

  • Political Science Manuscripts is a project to distribute political science research and scholarship online. PSM indexes abstracts to scholarly manuscripts and provides facilities for researchers to make their manuscripts available online. PSM also hosts special collections and maintains links to online journals (and other online research repositories) in political science.

  • Canadian Institute of Strategic Studies    http://www.ciss.ca/    Established in 1976, the Canadian Institute of Strategic Studies has gained wide recognition as the nation's foremost source of independent information and research on a broad range of issues affecting Canada. It satisfies a need for a body of informed opinion on strategic and security issues and stimulates greater public awareness of national and international developments. Through a vigorous program of seminars, publications, educational activities and media relations, the CISS enhances the basis for informed choice by the Canadian public and its leaders. The CISS is a member-based, independent, non-profit organization.

  • The American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) - Begun in 1984, AICGS has established a reputation for producing rigorous, original scholarship and critical analysis of contemporary issues that are shaping Germany and the transatlantic dialogue.   The AICGS has been described as "the premier center for the study of Germany in the United States."  The Institute is affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University but governed by its own Board of Trustees.

      One of the internet's leading resources for the study of nationalism. It is produced by Eric Zuelow, a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is edited in consultation with an international committee of experts in the field.  The site contains an extensive collection of materials related to the study of nationalism including: essays, articles, dissertations, book abstracts and reviews, subject bibliographies, a bibliography of over 2,000 journal articles, and links to nationalism-related resources.

  • International Relations and Security Network is a resource for information on security and defense studies, peace and conflict research, and international relations. It is maintained by the Center for Security Studies and Conflict Research at the ETH Zurich, in conjunction with the Euro-Atlantic Foundation, Brussels, and EINIRAS

  • Adam B. Ulam web site 
    Dr. Ulam was the Director of Russian Research Center and Gurney Professor of History and Political Science at Harvard University.  The site is intended for those interested in U.S.-Russian relations during the Cold War period.  Because much of his adult life spanned that epoch, Professor Ulam, Polish by birth, brought to his subject a personal perspective, along with a depth of professional experience.
