Monsoon, Season of Landslides
The pushta (retaining wall) along Tehri Road (in front of Cozy Corner tea shop) which holds up Woodstock Villa, began to give way in the May rains. Once the heavy rains began in July emergency repairs were required. In the midst of that effort, on August 23 a day of two torrential downpours, another huge area of the pushta came down, bringing about half of the front yard as well. The Brig Lal's side of the house remains stable but Abha Singh, science teacher, and her family have relocated as their living room currently is hanging out in thin air. Work is going on daily to finish the repair which should be complete within the month.
