Shailender and Yalma || Vinod and Renu
January, the first month, and the last of this century began with a real bang for our employees. What a happy day it was for the families, as the weather too smiled down on the happy couples and their family members.
Shailender son of Surat
Singh, peon in the high school
office, was married to Yalma
from the village of Bhengi, Tehri.
She is 21 years old and is
presently doing her High School
exams. Shoilender and his family
come from the village of Paria in
Tehri. He is the fourth generation
here at Woodstock, as his great
grandfather, Jem Singh, his
grandfather, Padom Singh, and
now his father, Surat, have all
been employees at Woodstock.
(See the story in the Brown &
Gold, October 1998). Shoilender
is presently assisting his father in
the High School Office. He has 2 brothers
and five sisters. Our new groom,
who is 23 years old, holds a
B.Sc. degree, and is now doing
Masters in Computers Application
from the Indira Gandhi National
Open University, Delhi.
The second wedding took place on the 23rd. in Shimla. Vinod son of Manohar, peon in the music department, was married to Renu, from Sanawar. Renu has one brother and one sister, and is the daughter of Guliar and Sheila Devi, who are employees in the Lawrence School, Sanawar. Renu enjoys knitting and sewing, and has joined her husband here in Mussoorie. Vinod is the third generation of employees at Woodstock, as his grandfather, Chander Rom worked at Ridgewood, while his wife, Champa Devi worked for Mrs. Kapadia bringing up Shenaz, and then working with Mrs. Biswas. (she was a marvellous cook!) Vinod has two brothers.
