Day 11 - Wed: Glendalough &
Waterford Crystal
Drive south through the Wicklow Mountains to visit the 6th century monastic remains of
Glendalough. Here see the round tower and churches set in a deep valley and the Visitor
Centre relates the history of the settlement.
Travel along the Vale of Avoca to Arklow and
Enniscorthy and on
to Waterford for a tour of the Waterford Crystal Factory where we can
see how the glass is blown and cut by skilled craftspeople. Also see the huge display of
trophies and tableware in the showrooms.
Continue to Dungarvan to check into our Park Hotel near the
bay. (B, D)
Before dinner walk to the town and around the bay; take photos of
Downey's pub, meeting a local character. After dinner, no music in the town pubs so return to Hotel.
