Day 9 - Mon: Somme Heritage
Centre & Boyne Valley
Depart Bangor and drive a short distance to Newtownards to visit the Somme Heritage
Centre. Here see a reconstruction of this important baffle of World War I and learn about
Ireland's role in the conflict.
Continue south through Newry and Dundalk to visit the
Boyne Valley Visitor Centre. Displays explain the nearby underground burial chambers which
date from 2,500 BC.
Drive into Dublin and check into our hotel, located close to Trinity
College and Merrion Square, the Mont Clare Hotel (B)
Eat at the hotel lounge, after
walking back up to O'Connor square and
do email at Global Internet Cafe. Somewhat lost on
way back.
Out to O'Shea Merchant pub for trad music,
set dances, and Guinnesses
