Folk Park
McEldowneys take taxi to Omagh library
and do research on 1860s survey, maps, and 1800s description.
Taxi to two grave sites in south Omagh town and
out to southeast Drumragh cemetary; explore hill top ruins; visit Methodist
minister's house and church. Rejoin GROUP at Folk Park.
For the GROUP
This morning in Derry take a walking tour around the city which still retains much of its
medieval encircling walls.
Travel through Strabane and Omagh to visit the Ulster American
Folk Park. The Park is located on the farm of Thomas Mellon, whose cottage home has been
preserved. Exhibits trace the strong connections between Ulster and colonial America and
at least twelve U.S. presidents have had Ulster ancestry.
Return to Derry in good time for
dinner at Trinity Hotel. (B, D)
Enjoy Guinesses, music, and craic at
Peadar O'Donnell's pub. Youngesters' crowds
busy and nois y outside Trinity at The Strand Bar until 3 am or so.
