Day 6 - Fri: Yeats' Country & Donegal
Drive north today through County Mayo and into Sligo.
The poet, W. B. Yeats, spent
much of his life in this region and stop at Drumcliffe Graveyard to see his final resting
place.
Continue along the Atlantic coastline of Donegal
Bay to Belleek to visit the Belleek Pottery Factory. Here see
skilled craftspeople create intricate basketweave designs in
delicate china
Leave main group for side trip to Omagh for search about McEldowney
roots there
Journey north through Donegal town and enjoy sweeping views of
the misty Blue Stack Mountains on the way to Ballybofey. Continue through the rugged
landscape
to Derry. Trinity Hotel in downtown Derry. (B, D)
SIDE TRIP
Taxi from Belleek to Omagh; meet with Tyrone Consititon staff;
go for supper and night at Hawthorne House; after walk to Omagh downtown and
Guinesses at Inn on the Bridge.
