- Cyberhomes is one of the few services that
shares with you an MLS database. It has listings from about 20 areas
of the country, including Chicago, Minneapolis and Norfolk, with
more coming.
- Realtor.Com has dozens of areas nationwide
and is linked to MLS listings, among them some suburban Maryland
counties (realtor.net/selmd.htm). Search by making choices from a long list of criteria (including tennis court, number of acres, kind of heat). House photos and agent phone numbers are included.
- The Northern Virginia Real Estate Weekly
has hundreds of listings, with MLS numbers and photos. Search by county, city and price
- On America Online, you can search Digital City Washington
(keyword dc) listings by county, price range, number of bedrooms
and keywords. (There are a handful of Digital Cities across the
country, each with its own setup.) With the same general criteria as in
the Cyberhomes example, AOL spit out 91 listings for metropolitan
Washington.
- The Los Angeles Times

- The Washington Times site (www.washtimes.com/homeguide/map/map.html) offers an area map of average home
prices by Zip code.
- www.wasingtonpost.com/ The Washington Post site
wp-adv/classifieds/realestate/mortb.htm) lists daily mortgage rates.
- Money magazine hosts software that filters 300 cities according to your rankings to find your "best place" to live (pathfinder.com/
money/best-cities-96/seaindex.htm).
- Rent.Net (www.rent.net) has hundreds of thousands of
rentals nationwide.
