I am a doctoral student in the Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia. My program area is Instructional Technology. I just completed a M.S. in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Check out my (slightly outdated) online portfolio that talks about my work there.
I intend to be a professor, exploring and pushing the boundaries of the ways technology is used in all grade levels. My current research interests are in the ways elementary and middle school students use technology to learn math.
Languages
: Java, C / C++, Flash Actionscript, Microsoft Visual Basic, MIPS, SQL

(a) html: I have taught bilingual courses (English / Spanish)
in basic web design

Pro
(f) Flash: My master's research involved lots of work with Flash and
(g) Actionscript: which, thankfully, is getting more and more
similar to Java all the time
(h) JavaScript: minimal work trying to get windows to open without
address bars ... and other tricks that differ drastically between
browsers. (Also for my master's research)
(i) other experience with scripting and / or programming:
One of my favorite projects at UIC was writing a small HTML
server. See my portfolio, above, for other projects
(j) other experience with media or graphic design:
I taught PowerPoint to 1st graders in an after-school program
in an under-served neighborhood in Chicago. You would be
amazed what digital artistry a first-grader can create with clip
art.
