Battler Graphics

After you've made your own custom character tileset, you might want to change your battler graphic to reflect that change. The method is basically the same as makign a character tileset, exepct that you have one large non-animated image that's more detailed.

Export a Graphic

Export a sampe battler graphic in the same way you would a tile set: Go to the Materials window, open up Graphics/Battlers, choose a file and hit Export. Follow the same procedure of saving and opening in an image editor, and go on to increase the color depth to 16 million colors. Since I changed the Fighter 01 sprite to have blue hair, I'll change the battler graphic as well. I put a Hue layer on top and start coloring blue over the hair.

More blue hair

When you're done, save and import in the Materials window. Then set the Battler Graphic on your actor to your new image.

Totally awesome!

Use this same method to edit enemy graphics as well. You can also change the size of the image anywhere from 1x1 pixel to 640x320 pixels.

If you want to make your own new graphic from scratch, you can either draw it directly into the program, or scan a drawing and work from that.
