A postdoctoral position at University of Virginia is immediately available for neuroethological studies of weakly electric fish. We seek motivated individuals who have backgrounds in neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, biophysics or physic and have experimental experiences in electrophysiological techniques. Possible research topics include but not limited to (1) elucidation of the combination sensitivity by interaction of synaptic potentials, and (2) investigation of the sensitivity to small time disparity. Both in vivo and in vitro whole-cell recording techniques will be used. The position is for two years with possible renewal for an additional year. Salary will be commensurate with the NIH guideline and experience.
