Florence is a beautiful town, with an unbelievably rich artistic and cultural heritage. You can't walk 100 feet in a straight line without colliding with buildings or sculpture by some of the greatest masters of the Renaissance, and despite the fact that I was there the better part of 10 days, I barely scratched the surface.

As is my (somewhat obsessive-compusive) custom, I kept a detailed journal of the trip, and I hope to share some of that narrative here at some point. But for now, here's one of my pictures of the city from the overlook at the Piazzale Michelangelo.

http://www.people.virginia.edu/~mdz4c/blog/2005/09/07/#36_florence http://www.people.virginia.edu/~mdz4c/blog/2005/09/07/#36_florence
