Dwyer and Hess recently proved that under some conditions the totalization of the cosimplicial space obtained from a multiplicative operad is weakly equivalent to the double loop space of the space of derived maps from the associative operad to the operad itself. Their approaches relies heavily on the homotopy theory of simplicial model categories. A little bit later I found another and more straightforward proof of the same result. In my talk I will compare the two approaches.
