EBP resources for SLPs working in school settings

The "Talking EBP" digital newsletter provides updates to SLPs at least twice each year. Information that is relevant to evidence based practices (EBP) in schools is summarized in a quick and easy to read format. The newsletter addresses practice issues related to serving students in public schools from 2 to 21 years of age. Issues include relevant research that focuses on EBP highlights for a variety of communication deficits.

Newsletter Sections

Need To Know summarizes key findings from a published systematic review with which school SLPs will want to be familiar. This section always highlights EBP content that SLPs should be able to recall during meetings and conversations with administrators, educators, and parents.

Test Your Knowledge is a self-check on the reader's knowledge and application of best practice principles, as well as current evidence.

Practically Speaking translates EBP findings into practical practice patterns that are relevant to SLP roles and responsibilities in school settings.

Working With Data highlights strategies and techniques for collecting and summarizing therapy data for accountability, progress monitoring, and treatment planning purposes.

More To Explore identifies interesting online EBP resources to help busy SLPs easily access sites that may meet their practice or continuing education needs.
