Charley is my dog. We met on June 2, 2001 thanks to "Animal Connections" in Louisa County, VA. We go on trips together in "myfunrv" Roadtrek motorhome. Yes, this approach was inspired by John Steinbeck's Travels With Charley. His Charley was a very mature Standard Poodle. My Charley is smaller and looks like a small black Lab. Our primary focus is National Parks, but we also make detours to other interesting places. Charley wanted to meet the family in Wisconsin so we went there also. I plan to cover most of the 54 National Parks in the next 5 years. We won't be able to visit the parks on islands such as American Samoa, and I doubt if we'll take the 13 day trip to Alaska, although the 7 Parks there are tempting. We travel alone much of the time, though friends and family come with us on some trips. Check back again for more trip accounts as they happen. From now on, it's the standard plane, rental car and hotel. Poor Charley will have to stay home.
