Hong Kong - Studying the Big-headed Turtle
I arrived in Hong Kong in the middle of January and spent my time at Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden. Kurt Buhlmann came over and we helped initiate Kadoorie's radio tracking of the big-headed turtle (Platysternon megacephalum). Although the weather was not very cooperative, we had great fun searching the stream for turtles. I also was able to learn about the wildlife rescue center at Kadoorie and assist with some care and treatment. My time in Hong Kong was not all work and I was fortunate to be there during the Chinese New Year festivities.
