I am a sixth-year graduate student at the University of Virginia working under the direction of Thomas Kriete. My research interests lie in the areas of Operator Theory, Complex and Functional Analysis, and Operator Algebras. I have been awarded a Graduate School of Arts & Sciences Disseration Year Fellowship for the 2009-2010 academic year and expect to complete my Ph.D. in May 2010.
In addition to research, I am passionate about teaching and outreach and have been active in both areas during my time in graduate school. In 2009, I received an Honorable Mention Department of Mathematics Graduate Teaching Award.
I am originally from Columbia, SC, and I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina. In my free time, I like to solve Sudoku puzzles, watch sports, and travel.
