Did you know that BB&T Bank charges to cash checks drawn on that bank?  I worked in the banking industry for 15 years and I can't imagine how anyone could have come up with this practice.  Banks earn money on the money you deposit.  Banks earn money on the checks you purchase (if anyone is purchasing checks these days).  Banks make money on the money you borrow from them.  Banks should not earn money on cashing checks for those you choose to pay with a check.
