I finally received my airsoft StG 44! For those that are unfamiliar with this weapon, the StG 44 (Sturmgewehr 44, or "Assault Rifle Model of 1944") was an assault rifle developed by Germany during WWII and is considered by many to be the first modern assault rifle. It's even supposed to have inspired the design of the AK-47:

Anyway, I've been wanting to get an airsoft version of this gun for a while, but the only one available until just recently has been the SHOEI model that costs $800 or more.
Finally, about two months ago, while in a particularly WWII sort of mood, I decided I'd go ahead and pick up an MP40. So I went to airsoftatlanta.com, where I've gotten most of my guns, to see if they have any and lo and behold, on the front page, was a "new release" StG 44 AEG for $200!
I added it to my cart, but before I checked out, I decided to check some reviews because it was by a company I'd never heard of, AGM. After reading several opinions, generally favorable, I decided to go ahead with my order. However, when I went back, it was already out of stock! I literally missed it by less than 10 minutes!
So, for the next month or so, I'd check once a week to see if they'd gotten any more. Finally, early this month, they did. I ordered one. That afternoon, I got a call from a salesman there saying that someone else had submitted an order just before mine, and that they last one they had would have to go to him. We decided to just leave my order open until they got more in stock.
Well, looks like they did, because it showed up on my stoop yesterday! It's awesome. Quite heavy (full metal body and a real wood stock!), and longer than I expected; it's several inches longer than my M4A1 and almost as long as my M249. I was expecting something slightly bigger than my Thompson!
