I'm not as think as you drunk I am
12.24.02, 21:14EST
Merrry Christmas, everyone! It's Xmas eve, and I'm nice and toasty, or getting there at least. My parents gave me a 40 of Hurricane malt liquor for my 21st birthday. This holds tremendous significance as it's the drink on which I first got drunk! Now it's the first thing I get legally drunk on (though I suppose technically I'm not legal for another 3 hours. Oh well.) I downed it in 10 minutes, so now I'm on my way to a nice buzz. Listening to music nice and loud.... hold on i'm gonna go wash my hands they feel a little sticky.
This shoudl be a funny read. I'm buzzed yet I remember how to format my HTML as I type this. God Im' a geek. I suppose that means I'm not drunk. Course it would be hard to get drunk off one 40. Forrest, we need to do 40's after Four again sometime man. That was the BOMB.
Well I lost my train of thought there, so here's a more important topic. Tomorrow is christmas!! w00t! I can't wait. I'm getting a digital camera; and if I get enough money, I'm gonna buy a new airsoft gun (pictures of all my gusn to come soon with the digital camera).
Well now I'm coming down from my nice buzz... yeah all in less than an hour. Need another 40 to keep it up. Oh well it was fun! Sucks being as big as me.
Merry Christmas everyone. I'm gonna go take a piss.
Bond is Back, but so are classes.

Ugh. two more weeks of classes, one of which is filled with exams. I hate school. I hate it so very, very much. I have two tests on Wednesday, as well as an econ assignment due. Luckily my networks homework was changed to thursday so I don't have to spend the usual 6 hours on it tomorrow night. And I just heard the AI class is full, so now I have to come up with TWO electives, and by tomorrow. And my register time is 11:30, when I'm at work. I guess I'll just have to take a longer-than-normal lunch to run over here to the lab and sign up for my core classes and then get my ass back. Electives can come later. I can't wait till Christmas break.
On a brighter note, I just saw the new Bond movie, Die Another Day, last night. It was good. Still not GoldenEye, but I doubt if anything ever will be. And while it was lots of fun, I fear that they're going down the same road that Roger Moore's Bonds took; that with lots of jokes and silly gadgets. Main difference right now is the jokes are good! However I thought the disappearing car was a little too much. I could almost buy a photoreflective paintjob, but then what about the tires? If bullets will mess up the camo, wouldn't constant friction with a road? Ah well, it is a James Bond movie, so you have to suspend your disbelief.
The one thing I could not overlook was the prolific destruction of some VERY nice cars. Dammit, they blow up a Porsche in the first scene. Then in subsequent explosions we can only assume the destruction of a very nice GT40 and a Ferrarri or two. Then later, they send two beautiful cars out the back of a dying plane and have them land nose down in a river. ARGH! I was hoping Bond would at least make his escape in one of those, like he did in The Living Daylights.
Now I have to go do my Discrete Math homework; it's due by 5:00. Then I get to relax for a few hours though.
Yay! 3 day break!
11.25.02, 23:38 EST
Now why couldn't they just give us the whole damn week? Oh well, I suppose I should be happy I get a few days off. I need it. Time to relax, play video games, and sleep.
Wow it's been a while since I put in an entry here. Haven't had much time, I guess. Hopefully over the upcoming break I'll get a chance to bring my guestbook back online. I also hope to make myself a cgi form to update this file 'cause I am sick of all the ftp'ing I have to do!
I just bought Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance the other day. This game rocks. I've been a fan of the MK series since I got the first one for my Sega Genesis, though I didn't have a system that would take MK3 or gold. I got MK2 for the 32x and MK4 for the N64. 4 was a bit of a letdown, but this new installment more than makes up for any shortcomings its predecessor had. There's so much to do in this game, it's insane. 9 unlockable characters, alternate outfits for each, secret levels, and more! And the game engine has had a big improvement. No more standard 2 kicks and 2 punches for every character (which also means no classic uppercut). Now each character has 3 unique fighting styles, 2 hand-to-hand and 1 weapon. They're almost all based on real martial arts, too, which makes it that much cooler. Anyone who liked any of the MK games, or any fan of fighting games in general should get this asap!
And in case anyone was wondering, I ended up doing pretty well on that econ test I forgot last time; got a 79, class average was a 71 (man I feel smart). Now lets hope I can do well on the final. Oh and for those of you who don't speak german, "Ich haße meine Lebensdauer" means "I hate my life" (according to dictionary.com at least).
Ich haße meine Lebensdauer.

Today was the worst day I've had in a long time. Hopefully you can get some amusement out of it though. First, as I'm leaving my house, I slip on the hill going down to my car and fall on my ass, covering my shorts, shirt, and backpack with mud. So I get up, make my way back into the house to change and clean myself up. By this time I've missed the meeting I was hoping to go to (nonessential, luckily) so I hang round for a little bit and head out again. I make it to my car, and go to class.
I get to class and get out my discrete book to start the homework, and as I do so I check my econ syllabus to see if there's any homework coming up in that class. What do I see? Midterm. Today. And I've left my book at home. I even saw it going out, thinking I won't need this!. So, after math is over, I get on the phone and call my mom to bring my book in (thus effectively doubling my study time from what it would be if I went back myself to get it). So I'm waiting for her, and when the 20 mins she said it would take her to get there expired, I got up and moved so I could see up the road to look for a sign. What do I see? Her car. Turning around. The goddam gates are down and she can't get to me.
So I start running after her, hoping she'll see me or drive reeeeely slowly. No luck. She goes all the way back to the end of the road and turns right. So I know she's either going to loop around and come up between the gates, or go to my dad's office to see what the best way to get to me is (she doesn't know her way around very well). So I get to the phone nearby, call my dad, ask if she's there, he says no, so I start running back to where I was originally supposed to meet her, and I see her coming up.
So I get my book, cram my ass off, and actually do ok on the test (I think). Now I have to finish my discrete assignment during class, and I cant get any of the answers to come out right. But finally I get that done, turn it in, and get out. Then to do my comp. architecture homework, I get it all hooked up and goddam SMOK freezes up. So I gotta go do it all again. Then I save it and something's not working. Luckily Tommy showed me his and I figured out I had a bit offset wrong.
Ugh. I've never forgotten a midterm before. Hopefully I never will again.

No, I haven't been converted, have no fear. I just watched The Boondock Saints. What a great movie. Awesome action scenes, badass guns (like a Desert Eagle with engraved Sickle & Hammer), good humor, and Irishmen. What could be better? Not Willem Dafoe in drag, that's for sure. But seeing a chubby Italian moron comment on what "hot box" he (she?) was cracked me up. Everyone should see this movie. Now I just gotta find the soundtrack to it!
I swear soon I'm going to have a cgi journal. Yikes! Then it might be a "blog", which Kirill so blatantly expressed his dislike for. Oh well, if it keeps me from having to ftp the friggin file to my comp, edit it, and ftp it back, it'll work for me!
You better lose yourself in the music, the moment...
11.05.02, 19:30 EST
I just downloaded Lose Yourself by Eminem and I'm listening to it now on repeat. This song is awesome. I think almost anyone will like it; has a nice message and a superb beat. Eminem baffles me. He puts out so much absolute trash (Drips, '97 Bonnie & Clyde), and then turns around and creates some of the most meaningful lyrics I've ever heard in a rap song (Hailie's Song, Sing for the Moment). Then of course he's got the ones that are just fun to listen to because they rock (Without Me, The Real Slim Shady). Overall I like Em, and if he could drop the crap from his repertoir he'd be among my list of favorite artists. I plan to go see his movie when it hits theaters around here.
Back into the fray.
11.04.02, 14:09 EST
Well after a semi-relaxing weekend, I have to go back to school. Started with a late night last night working on an old architecture project that didn't work and I have to redo (I guess I'm lucky that the teacher is letting me do that), getting home at 2 am. Now I can't find Jones so I don't know if he submitted it or not; I hope not because we still have one check to do.
I have systems homework again this week; the two week span without it was so nice. I also have to do an econ assignment by wednesday and that means a lot of reading. But for now, I'm gonna play with the site some.
Finally I can relax...
11.01.02, 18:34 EST
Boy, after one hell of a horrible week, I can finally chill out. I'm in my brother's dorm room for the afternoon, playing Counter-Strike and working on the site some. I was up till 6 am last night working on a damn comp. architecture project, but it works at long last. Now I can chill for an evening. Then I work tomorrow night, and Sunday I have to come back into town to redo an old architecture project for which I apparently lost the working version and accidentally turned in one that didn't. Argh. Can't wait till thanksgiving break!
Now it's time to head out, Tommy's comin to pick Wade and me up to go get food at Anna's. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
Ouch

Man, this is the week from Hell. I had a nice weekend working with the site, then BAM it went to crap. Monday night I couldn't sleep, (got 2 hours then had to work). Tuesday I had to study for 2 tests. Tonight I had to take those 2 tests. And one of them raped me. Tomorrow I have to spend the afternoon working on a computer architecture project that I haven't had a chance to look at yet and that's due Friday. I hate school sometimes. Wait, I hate school all the time.
I better get a damn good job outta this.
The Mothership Has Landed..

Well it's high time I populated my web journal with its first entry. I don't have anything special to share today, nothing's really pissing me off at the moment, so I'll just ramble on for a few sentences and then go to bed. As you've probably guessed, this space is for anything that I care to put here, things that I'm thinking about and want to put down in writing to share with people.
I just finished up the major overhauls to my site, converting it over from HTML using server-side includes to PHP generated content. This makes editing a whole lot easier when I want to do layout changes, though for right now I'm quite happy with the way the site looks. I've fixed most of the little stuff too, like images that weren't displaying and weird colored text from residual style sheets. I'll be adding quite a bit of content to some of the sections in the coming days, assuming I have some spare time, what with 2 tests on Wednesday.
If you click any links and you get a 404 error, right now it just means I haven't gotten that page put up yet, so check back later. Also, and I may find another, more permanent place to note this, I recommend you download the font 1979. It's the font I use in the title and most of the page headers.
Well that's all I can think of for now. Thanks for tuning in,
K
