Big news: the guestbook is back online, and this time it's all my code. I rule!! I might tweak it some in the future but it's pretty much done. This means that the site is pretty much done too. Some pages to add in the info section, but for those I have to wait till I get my hands on a decent digital camera.

Gee, can ya guess what the news is this time? Well in case you're dense, and even if you're not, I'm gonna tell ya. The site has a whole new look (and layout). Though it's still not finished, I'm quite happy with the new feel of the site, and I'll be getting it completed hopefully within the week. The directory structure has changed significantly, so if you had anything bookmarked, it won't work I'm sorry to say. It may not even be around any more! I've taken out some stuff and added other new stuff. New stuff includes:

  • Web Journal
  • Essays
Poke around some, hope you like it!

And here's some more useless news! Summer's here, I'm back at home, which means page updates have grinded to a halt. But, though I'm going to be living at home for the next few years, come september I should be able to get some fast wireless internet!
As for right now, I'm taking a class and still looking for a job. I admit I didn't look very hard, but with the job market as it is, the general vibe I'm picking up is there's not much call for summer help, especially when I have a class in there! If I don't get a job, I may have to take out a loan even when living at home. Luckily it's gonna be under 12,000 for the rest of school, that's nearly half of the price gone without housing and meals! w00t!
Right now I'm bored, wasting time until my class lab at 1:00 (It's 10:50). Maybe a new project will be a "diary" program for bored rants like this on mondays! We'll see.

Wow, it's been quite a while since I've changed anything on the site. Classes have had me actually working (gasp!!!) as they come to a close. Plus I'm working on updating the whole site with PHP, to get rid of the SSI and get even more cgi action going on! Perhaps such as a news submission form for me, so I don't have to go editing the source of this page every time I have something new to say. As for these changes, I've no idea when they'll be done but you can sneak a peek if you want. This may change a lot in layout as I try to find something I like. I may end up staying with the current look; who knows?

Well, I finally got it done. My site can now be viewed in tabular form, for those of you that don't like frames. The frames version is still a better option, especially for higher resolutions. And they are quite well designed, if I do say so myself. However, I am told some people hate frames, so there you go.
The coolest change, for me at least, is the full-scale use of server side includes. This now lets me edit one file and have the change show up in both versions of my site! This also makes any large-scale changes a lot easier, changing something in one place, and having all the pages that need it reflect it! Ok so I'm a geek. Shut up.

Most obvious change is the table of contents, the graphics are changed and they use a onMouseOver instead of onClick to switch colors. I was going for a kind of "sunk-in" look, which I think I pulled off to a suitable extent. I'll be playing with different fonts, too. I found a great site, www.1001freefonts.com and I'm having a fun time with them.
On the non-cosmetic side, I've done some work using server-side includes so that multiple docs can use the same block of text and I only have to edit in one place; more of this to come. It will probably be a big thing if I ever decide to get a tables version of this site done, so that both versions read the same paragraph info.
And now, it's 4:00 am, so I'd better get to bed.

Well the new year is finally here, and I'm 20 years old. I resolve to reduce my profanity, work on losing weight, and more crap that I'll probably list somewhere else. Right now I'm going to watch a movie.
