I am a sixth year mathematics PhD student at the University of Virginia, working under the supervision of Thomas E. Mark
. I am interested in low-dimensional topology and in particular symplectic 4-manifolds and contact 3-manifolds. See my research
for more details.
I am one of the UVa Math Ambassadors
, meaning I facilitate fun math activities for classrooms at local elementary schools. These activities explore high-level mathematics topics not in the standard curriculum and apply them to interesting, interactive problems. I am also involved in UVa's Math Circle, which is a similar program.
