Study Abroad

The Chemistry Department at the University of Virginia is a member of the TransAtlantic Science Student Exchange Program (TASSAP) Chemistry Foreign Exchange Program. TASSAP has a web site at

http://studyabroad.unc.edu/tassep/

where you can check out the institutions participating in the program. On an exchange program, you pay tuition here and go to the other institution. In a regular study abroad, you pay tuition and fees at the other institution.

In addition, our own International Studies Office has a web site

http://www.virginia.edu/iso/

where they provide many of the details need for study abroad. They have information on non exchange study abroad programs.

The International Studies Office must approve all course programs of study. All Chemistry Majors must have their program of chemistry studies approved by the Chemistry Department. The contact in the Chemistry Department is James Demas (CHEM 144) at jnd@virginia.edu.
