Summer

Extraordinary lightening storm on Friday June 8, 2007 in Charlottesville. I did NOT use a time exposure to get these. I used 1/10 second exposure. So in fact the one where the sky is full of bolts doesn't look like what I saw. It understates the visual image. The whole heavens were on fire. I would say my picture shows about 20% of what my eye registered. The fireworks started at a corner and moved across to fill up the entire sky. I have never seen anything like it before! Pictures taken with a 5 MPixel Panasonic with image stabilzation, ASA on automatic (might have defaulted to 400), and f stops between 2.8 and 5. These were probably near 4.
