Spring comes to Los Alamos

More kids than ducks on Pond Pond. The ducks are very well fed.

• The top is an abandoned guard tower with the Santa Fe ski area visible on the mountain 20 miles away. (telephoto shot)

• The bottom two shots are from "Inspiration Point" where couples would come to the edge of the lab facility during the war, look out over the valley, and hope for happier times. The massive variable colored tuff cliffs and their weathering are clearly visible.

• The bottom shows the Front Hill Road, which is the shortest way into the town--but the most treacherous after a snow storm.

The aptly named Camel Rock is on the highway between Sante Fe and Los Alamos--you cannot miss it.
