Submission and Preparation of Posters

ACS Section Meeting

Charlottesville, VA

6:00-7:00 p.m. Lobby Chemistry Building

Friday April 18, 2007

Speaker 7:00 CHEMISTRY 304

Dr. Richard N. Day

Departments of Medicine and Cell Biology

University of Virginia

"Fluorescent proteins from marine invertebrates-

new tools for studying protein dynamics in living cells"

Titles and abstracts are due April 11. Please use ACS meeting format and submit in Word or rtf format. Please submit electronically to Cindy Knight at csk3a@virginia.edu

Poster may be set up after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, in the main lobby of the Chemistry Building. If everything is ready to put up, it should take you no more than a few minutes.

Unfortunately, they will ticket behind the building before 5:00!

The presentation surfaces will be free-standing boards that are 4' wide and 8' tall. This gives you an effective area of about 4'x4'. For typing sheet paper posters regular thumb tacks work, but for thicker posters the large thumb tacks with the plastic grips are required.

Feel free to leave your poster up until after the ACS program.

Keep your text simple, in large letters, and to the point. Complete sentences are not required. People do not like to read a lot of words; they want to know what the main points are.

You should be available for discussion with viewers for the 6:00-7:00 p.m. .

Pizza will be available for a $7.00 fee ($4.00 for High School Students). Soft drinks will be free.

We look forward to seeing you. If you have any questions call Cindy Knight at (434) 924-7995 or e-mail her at csk3a@virginia.edu.

Mac users: To be PC readable use a ".doc" or ".rtf" suffix on the file name.
