Next:  Got an offer from the United Nations Volunteer Program in Kabul, Afghanistan.  Taking a year off and applying to Medical School this summer and planning to work on a health care project in Afghanistan.

 Notes: Won the 2006 Peabody Award for my short documentary “Sahar: Before the Sun”, which was a part of a collection of documentaries called Beyond Borders: Personal Stories from a Small Planet. President - Afghan Student Association; Community Service Co-Chair - National Society of Collegiate Scholars; Planning Committee - Women's Leadership Development Program; Recipient of certificates of achievement for 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 as a student leader from Women’s Leadership Development Program at UVA.

Next: Career plans to be determined but will most likely be in healthcare in some way.  May apply to the Peace Corps.  May continue education in American Sign Language and become a certified interpreter.
