Be sure to attend this Friday's Fourth Friday Reception at the University of Virginia Art Museum, on 01.23 between 5.30 and 7.30 pm. This month's Fourth Friday Reception doubles as the opening reception for the American Collage Exhibition. Scheduled for 01.23-08.22, this exhibition features, among others, various works from the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C.While you're at the museum, check out Christian Marclay's installation film Telephones, on view between 01.23 and 02.29. |

Consider attending some or all of this weekend's screenings of Matthew Barney's Cremaster Cycle in Newcomb Hall. Cinematheque is showing Cremaster 1 and Cremaster 2 on Thursday 01.22, Cremaster 3 on Friday 01.23, and Cremaster 4 and Cremaster 5 on Saturday 01.24. OffScreen will show the entire Cremaster Cycle on Sunday 01.25.Screenings on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will occur at 7 pm. Sunday's screening times are as follows: 1 pm – Cremaster 1 (45 Mins.) and Cremaster 2 (79 Mins.) / 4 pm – Cremaster 3 (182 Mins.) / 8 pm – Cremaster 4 (43 Mins.) and Cremaster 5 (55 Mins.). |
