ENWR 210
Being Convincing

Last Modified 2005.04.13 13.50

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This accelerated academic writing seminar provides a faster-paced single-semester option for meeting the first writing requirement at the University of Virginia. With a focus on framing and developing effective arguments, assignments will include a number of essays and other compositions, both spoken and written.

Whereas most ENWR courses are constructed around specific themes, this particular section will remain broadly conceived to allow for maximum concentration on the nuances of rhetoric and the processes of composition. Topics are yours to select, shape, and pursue. In all cases, I will encourage you to make ample use of internet and multimedia resources. Computer users of all levels are welcome. Grades will range from A+ to C- or NC.
