Project Description:

The Computing Research Association Committee on the Status of Women (CRA-W) offers the Grad Cohort for Women Program for entering graduate students. It builds and mentors a cohort of about 100 women each year as they progress through graduate school in computer science, with the goal of increasing the students’ success.

With funding from the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT), this Graduate Cohort Study examines the cohort program participants, exploring their preparation and qualifications for graduate school and their experiences, progress, and successes. NCWIT's objective in funding this study is to identify effective practices that can be applied more broadly to graduate education. CRA and CRA-W serve as a research hub for NCWIT. Their research focuses on women's representation at the graduate level.
