3After I had completed the commission of six silhouetes for the City of Charlottesville, I thought frequently about appropriate subjects for this location. One story that I heard was particularly suited for this unique area. The story is quite simple and was a favorite one of the Page family. One morning in 1823, Fred Page a local resident, was riding east from the University to downtown Charlottesville and encountered, the three former presidents riding west, also on horseback, presumably on their way to a Board of Visitors Meeting.
