Research Team

Jose D Fuentes
Fuentes and graduate students investigate forest hydrocarbon production, hydrocarbon oxidation and aerosol formation, ozone deposition, aerosol fluxes, and forest carbon updake.
Bill C Keene
Keene studies multiphase chemistry involving gases, aerosols, cloud droplets, and precipitation and biogeochemical interactions between the forest and the atmosphere.
Howie Epstein
Epstein studies the climate and soil controls on carbon and nitrogen cycling within the forest system.
Greg Okin
Okin employs remote sensing capabilities to define the temporal foliage spectral characteristics in order to quantify radiative transfer in the foret canopy.
Michael Mann
Mann leads studies to learn the impacts of reforestation on both climate and the surface energy balance.
Paolo D'Odorico
D'Odorico pursues research to define the hydrological controls on forest trace gas exchange.
Thomas L Smith
Smith studies both the physiological attributes of the resident tree species and patterns of litter decomposion within the flux footprint of the tower.
