Assistant Positions
Applications
are invited from 3rd and 4th undergraduate students to assist with
research
related to tropospheric ozone and regional environmental change.
Three
positions are available during the fall 2002 semester, each position
requires
10 hours of work per week. Strong writing skills and science
background
are highly desirable. Interested students should have a working
knowledge
with software systems such as EXCEL, MATLAB, SIGMAPLOT, VISUAL BASIC or
C++.

Graduate
Research Opportunities
The Department of
Environmental
Sciences at the University of Virginia is seeking graduate research
assistants
to work on research projects related to (1) mangrove ecophysiology, and
(2)
carbon cycle in the coastlands of the Florida Everglades. The
available research opportunities will
involve field investigations and numerical modeling studies. We
particularly welcome applications from
candidates with an academic background in ecology, biology, physics,
chemistry,
or atmospheric sciences. The financial aid package includes a highly
competitive research assistantship plus tuition and fees. The
University of
Virginia is located in Charlottesville, a vibrant community with a rich
