No matter how important or urgent a development project may seem to Americans, it is unlikely to be sustainable if it is not something that the community is excited about and embraces as their own. We are therefore doing a Needs Assessment with the communities through informal household visits and village meetings to ascertain the priority needs in terms of health and sanitation of each community we are working in. We will then do our best to match up the communities with the interventions we have planned. Needs Assessment Communities: Lusaka, Mitondo, Manyama, Nsambya, Kalagala, and Kikungwe
Dates: September 1 to October 1, 2008
Method: Household Visits and Community Meetings
Goal(s): To introduce ourselves to the community, find out their priority needs and garner community trust and support.
Staff: Mr. Ssenyonga Max and Mr. Jonathan Mellor
