Kingsmill Quarter

The Kingsmill was a large plantation located east of Williamsburg, on the James River. The structure from which these data come was home to enslaved laborers who worked the home-farm quarter. It was located about a half mile from the mansion. Ceramic-type "counts" from Kingsmill Quarter subfloor pits. Note that the counts are NOT sherd counts, but represents a cataloger's guess of the number of vessels represented in each layer. These data are from the orginal finds lists, prepared back in 1973.
