At the band's annual Halloween party in the fall of 2000, the trombones started a new tradition. Each year the bones coordinate their costumes together, and it all started with the infamous "Trombone Ninjas." Now THAT'S what I call REAL ULTIMATE POWER!!!

At the party in 2001, the trombones dressed up as different incarnations of our favorite big-haired boner, Jim Apple! There was Beta Jim (also known as Jim 1.0), Army Jim, Squaredance Jim, Cowgirl Jim, '80's Jim, Prom Jim, Dr. Jim, Frat Boy Jim, Gladiator Jim, Pimp Jim, Wizard Jim, and Tyler Jim!

The Halloween Party of 2002 saw birth to one of the most absurd things ever created: the Eric-Erik-Eric wedding. There are five Eric's total in the band (well, 4 Eric's and an Erik), and three of them are trombones. On this special night, two of them, Eric Greiling and Erik Larson, decided to tie the knot. This wedding had everything; a flower boy, a caterer, bridesmaids, a crotchety old mother, a father of the bride, a priest, and a best man. The ceremony went beautifully until the third Eric, Eric Barker, decided he couldn't be without the other two and objected to their union. As a result, Jim Apple married all three Eric's to each other.
