Wow. It’s been two weeks since the last post, and everyone is done with their podcast project. At a quick glance, the results all look great. The evaluation period will start on Wednesday 11/28. We had a little discussion in class today, so I wanted to just quickly recap it here for everyone to see:
- We will have one more homework assignment covering Chapters 8 and 9, and it will be due on Wed. 12/5. There will be only a few problems, and this homework is optional. You can submit this assignment for credit if you like, but you don’t have to. Your final HW grade will be based upon the number you submit, and we will drop the lowest assignment from the calculation.
- The final exam will be comprehensive, although you can certainly expect a slight orientation toward Chapters 7-9. For sure there will be a shear and moment problem, a centroid problem, and most likely a friction tip/slip type problem. I will clarify the topics which are in bounds and out of bounds in the coming week or so.
- We have not been recording lectures for the past week or two because of a software upgrade issue…I will get it fixed but in the meantime don’t hesitate to come see me if you need help or clarification with anything from lecture.
- I didn’t mention it in class today, but course evaluations are now open.
