Not sure if this was a trick or a treat, but it least it wasn’t as scary as this. We introduced cables (for example, something like this) and focused on two different types of problems. First, we looked at cables with concentrated loads, along the lines of problem 1 on exam 1. Second, we looked at cables with distributed loads and considered the case of a cable system supporting the deck of a suspension bridge. This module gives you the theory and mathematics to examine either of these cable problems, and in class on Friday 11/2 we will continue with cable problems.
