We started this problem with the ramp on Monday in class, and I sensed alot of confusion. I could tell because several people were giving me this kind of distant stare. In any case, I have written up the solution and recorded the video posted below. In it, I focus on the moment summation and present 3 different ways to calculate the moment. The RED solution is a pretty strict vector/cross product approach. The GREEN solution is what our books calls the “scalar” approach. The MAGENTA solution uses the definition of the cross product in a slightly different way–it’s kind of a hybrid between the other two solutions.
