This is a short but sweet review of Friday’s lecture on FBDs, plus an extension to introduce equilibrium concepts for rigid bodies. Here we once again reinforce the idea that the FBD leads directly to the equilibrium equations by indicating the directions of the forces (i.e., the signs of the terms in the equilibrium equations). Arguably, the problem session we did after the recorded part of the lecture is more important, but you can take some time and enjoy this anyway.
