Today we introduced Chapter 5 on rigid body equilibrium (you may find this useful as well?!?) and did some small examples. The think-pair-share approach is kind of a useful mechanism to get you talking specifically about the problem and asking yourself the hard questions about how to solve it. It’s something we’ll come back to from time to time in order to get you thinking and collaborating.
The video posted below the lecture module is the solution to Prob. 5-4, which is a good FBD problem which introduces several of the important concepts (support reactions). It’s not too difficult, but this stuff will get harder. Have a look at the video and next week we will start to ramp up the challenge a little more.
