This assignment is due on Friday Sept. 28 at 4 pm. We have several problems from Chapter 4, all of which are focused on issues of moments, couples, and “equivalence”. You’ll recall that we discussed the definition of equivalence in Module 9. You MUST become comfortable with the idea of moments, couples, and equivalence, or you will have a hard time progressing in this course. These problems are a good start (and only a start!) at giving you the experience to understand these important concepts.
Homework problems: 4-17, 4-22, 4-31, 4-42, 4-54, 4-59, 4-80, 4-88
This looks like alot of work, but many of these problems are not too time consuming.

I had a request for some numerical values for solutions to some of these problems…so for Prob. 4-80, F = 992 N. For Prob. 4-88, P = 200 N.
